As a service based organization, our members share an important bond: our love of helping others. This year alone, our chapter has dedicated over 900 hours to community service projects throughout both campus and the DeKalb community. Although we may be small, our organization completes more service hours every semester than any other sorority at NIU.
Another essential part of Sigma Lambda Sigma is our involvement with the community and our semesterly philanthropy events. Each year we host two philanthropic events, one during the fall semester and one in the spring semester. We have donated to Safe Passage, Hope Haven, and Lambs Farm. Additionally, our chapter actively participates in Dance Marathon and Relay For Life.
We may not have it together but together we have it all!
One of the most exciting parts about going greek is being apart of a group of amazing people. From weekly sisterhood events to bonding with our greek family, sisterhood is what makes our organization great.
Student leadership can play an important role in preparing for a career. Our chapter makes sure to support one another in achieving their goals, both inside and outside of the sorority. By promoting academics and involvement in our executive board, our members learn to work with and support one another.
